hey there
just purchased an ibanez electric guitar and got a behringer amp to go along with it....

as far as the speaker cable goes... what gauge would you suggest? I'll probably get between 10 and 20 feet of cable....

thanks!

There's a difference between speaker and instrument cable. I wouldn't waste your money on the Monster Cable ones, but don't completely cheap out.

You don't use a speaker cable to go from guitar to amp. You do know this right? You're looking for an instrument lead with 1/4 in PHONE plugs on each end.

Those should work, but most guitars come with an instrument cable. (I assume that's what you mean by speaker cable) Check your guitar's packaging again and/or look in the pockets of the gig bag if it came with one.

That cable does have 1/4" phone plugs.

Uh.....why don't you just get a guitar cable from the place you got your stuff from? Instrument cables are shielded so you don't get things like radio stations or your neighbors HAM radio playing over your amp.

I suggest a Planet Waves cable. Got one for my guitar and there is a clear difference in the sound and clarity through the amp. The cable is really flexible and soft too.

get an instrument cable, and don't spend more than $20 or so on it, because you'll never notice the difference with that amp.

Great quality cable, but much cheaper than Monster is bluejeanscable.

I have bought 3 or 4 times from monoprice and highly recommend them. Never used blue jeans.

This is clearly not what you are looking for. Just go to a local music store.
