Nice! Looks like a great beginners cue...what weight did you decide to go with?

We should start up an AT Yahoo! Pool tourney ;)

20 oz is just about right for me.

You will never regret owining your own cue unless you go into a country and western bar and try to play for money!

actually $125 is around the price i would expect to pay for a beginner's cue. the $50 cues from local sporting goods stores are much, much lower in quality. even worse than house cues.

I had to get over this as well. I played with a bunch of other cues. Schmelke cues were the ones that I liked best. Cue prices can go very, very high. $125 is a definitely a low end cue.

I was amazed when I started looking as well.

Yeah, I've seen very high priced cues, but I still couldn't even bring myself to pay $125 for one...

For the first couple hundred dollars you're paying for good craftmanship. Beyond that it's just inlays/points/wrapping etc. etc.

That is what I started to understand as I progressed more and more with my research.

i have to disagree. have you ever hit a $2000 black boar? it's seriously MUCH nicer than hitting a $200 meucci.

Wow. Someone has a lot of money!

not anymore...

hehe! You're my idol. ;) After I go through my next few "must-get" purchases (LCD, X1, CC, etc...), I hope to get a new cue and then keep the Viking for a break/jump cue. And then to buy a real jump cue...those things are so cute. :D (Saw Tom Rossman in person two weekends ago...that was so cool!)

Graphites are great to have around the house. That way no one uses your nice cues.

Just got a Joss a couple months ago. Bought a Cuetec sneaky pete around the same time too.

Wow... I wish I had $125. :)

I knew there was a reason I drove a cavalier. :)

Right, if you get a $125 you are going to win $125 x N = $125N on pool table. If you own a $1000 cue you are going to win $1000 x N = $1000N on pool table.
That's why you drive a cavalier because you win $125N
That's why I am driving a 14 years old Toyota because my cue is only cost me $17.

You are 100% right, at my work place, they have a bad condition pool table, there are several nice cue but they all broke and no one repair it, unless no cue is available, otherwise no one touch my graphites cue, that's why I still have my 2 years old cue so I can play everyday.
