I bought the rs 130 sennheisers tonight, with a gift card from my mom for christmas...and I'm really enjoying the whole "wireless headphone" thing.

Not to mention the Surround Sound feature.

When I was shopping though, I had a few people that kept trying to get me to buy Bose, even though the Bose in the same price range had lesser specs..

Is Bose over-hyped or should I have gone with them?

I love when ATOT makes me feel assured. :D

I'm interested in this site now though.

Indeed. If it's wireless; then interference can be a problem. What if someone can listen to the sound from your computer?

I love my 10+ year-old wired Sennheiser HD490's too & have been considering a wireless set myself.

bose is semi competent, but over priced. you pay double for half the sound. people buy the brand, and those people don't really care about sound quality.
bose rakes in the money...they are masters at pushing their brand perception. i give them that. they saw a massive information gap and exploited it. the equipment industry is largely responsible for this. there is no good easy stats for normal people on what is good and how good it is relative to other products. so bose swoops in with safe packaged mediocrity.

bose headsets arent as bad as the home theater ones.

The Triport IE (in ear) earbuds are nice. The QuietSeries arent bad too. I must say i have used their airplane headsets for pilots and they are nice, but pricey.

Hmm..they'd have to be within 300 ft. and on the right wave length...but I suppose anything is possible with any non-encypted audio you know?

I just know these things sound fantastic.

I really want to try and wear them and play guitar hero...and see if it is awesome. =X

I got the urge and knew this was the perfect use of Christmas money after watching Dark Side of Oz over again today since that thread had popped up.

I used to work at MIT and Bose is a spin off from technology developed there. Not that it means anything at all, just trivial nonsense.

That being said, my son has a pair of Sennheisers, can't remember which ones right now but they're wired. They are fantastic. I steal them occasionally and I hear stuff I never knew was there. Now I want to get some for myself. Good choice.

Just search and you will see all the anti bose people here. Most of them never even tried bose headphones before. In short, bose is over priced, but it is by no means garbage quality.

Very true. Otherwise the same people wouldn't go around claiming that the QC2 and QC3 have inferior noise reduction capabilities to IEMs. I own both and have found that no IEM comes close to the comfortability of the QC2.

to be fair: bose makes okay stuff, and in some cases pretty decent stuff. But they are just WAY too expensive for what you get.

That said, I love my HD570's, and my beyerdynamics DT770's.
