Just Bought My First HDTV; Odd Audio Problem

Evenin' everybody!

So I finally broke down and bought myself an HDTV. This 37" Sharp Aquos to be exact. So far I like it alright. I had to fiddle with the colors and such for a little bit, but the standard TV looks good, which (quite frankly) surprises me. No, I haven't gotten a chance to allow it to flex its HD muscle (I've yet to add the HD package to my UVerse plan), but I will tonight as I also just took the Xbox 360 plunge (due in no small part to the release of Resident Evil 5), but it's not all flowers and puppy dogs at the moment...

The set seems to make a "Squeal" noise; it sounds like a tea kettle. I'm not sure what to make of it yet. I'd like to think it might be because I'm using the coaxial input from my cable box (as I've read about some quirks in these Motorola boxes), but I'm not holding my breath. It's not constant though, which makes me curious...
I had a similar issue a couple of years ago with a DFI P965 motherboard, but the problem there (apparently) had to due with the choke coils not being properly "Insulated".

Anyone have any thoughts here?

TIA! :)

You know what, I hadn't tried that yet. Simplest thing first, right? ;)
I'll try that and I'll try the Xbox here a little later (via HDMI) and I'll report back.

Thanks!

Odd...
I got home tonight and watched some TV and it wasn't making the noise right away. It started up a little later so I got up close to investigate. It seems that the sound is most present when the TV is experiencing any kind of movement; being jostled around or wiggles from the vibration of me walking in front of it.
Upon closer inspection it appears that the sound is coming from the area where all of the inputs are located (back right of the set). Looking through the vents I can see what I'd venture to believe is a Heat Shield. With that knowledge I listened a little closer and it sounds like metal scraping on metal; I think it may just be that something is loose and is vibrating. I tightened up the screws on the back of the unit, so we'll see how that goes.

You guys think I should call Sharp anyway just to see if there is a local service center to give it a "Professional" look-over? I'd do it myself, but I fear the whole "Voiding" of my warranty. :p

(and yes, it still makes the sound when I disconnect the coax cable)

It was bad again last night and I was driven to the brink of (near) insanity.

I decided to disconnect the TV and remove the back panel (which was connected only by screws; no "Warranty Voided" stickers). While I was working with the TV (laying face-down) I decided to turn it on and agitate it the way I knew I could replicate the sound. It wouldn't make any noise with the back off.
Upon my initial inspection there didn't appear to be anything out of place or "blown", but I did come across a teeny, tiny, little piece of styrofoam on the large heat-shield, which I presume was chipped off from the TV's packaging and fell into the vents.
I removed the styrofoam piece and tightened up the internal screws, all the while moving, twisting, and shifting the TV to try to get it to squeal (SQUEEEEAL like a TV!) but it wouldn't. So I replaced the back and hooked it back up.

She's been running all day and hasn't made any noise since. Even if I try to do the same things that resulted in the noise, it remains quiet! :)

My guess is that the heat-shield would heat-up and that would cause vibration of the styrofoam against the heat-shield between the back of the set.
Whatever. All I know is that she's working properly now! :D
