on the back of the card underneath teh GPU is some sort of mount, I was just wondering if anyone has the card how thick it is. My Northbridge heatsink is kind of big and close to my pci-express slot. I have an ECS RS480 if thay helps

mount?? something like this, it should be fine, even though your norhtbridge heatsink is kind of tall.

Are you talking about the backplate? It's maybe 1-2mm thick. I don't think you need to worry about it.
