Intel mobo died and I purchased this asus mobo as a replacement. For the life of me I couldn't get it to boot to the serial ata drive which is my primary drive with Windows XP loaded. I thought it was because I switched mobo's at first so I tried to re-install Windows but my install kept rebooting or locking up.

So I installed Windows XP on one of my IDE drives and when I booted up. My SATA drive was not recognized in Windows until I installed the raid drivers that were on the ASUS website.

So my question is...If I have to install drivers to get the SATA drives to be recognized in Windows...How do I install Windows XP on there in the first place??

Well there is 2 ways, 1) on the cd there is a drivers folder and in there it will allow you to make a floppy disk and you hit F6 at boot up to add additionall drivers

2) turn the raid mode off the sata controller in the bios if you are not using raid, and xp will pick it up without additional drivers
