Just bought an iMac!! What do I do first???

So I bought a new iMac 20' and now I need some suggestions on what I should do first.

Last Mac I owned was a G3 'Walstreet' powerbook so it has been a while.

Any suggestions? Working on bringing my iTunes and photos over from the PC now.
Then what?

Also, any suggestions on a word processor for the Mac?
Since I have Word for the PC I don't wish to spend much money, but having one on the Mac would be nice.

And will any of my old software work on the new Mac?

Pages is ok for a Word-like processor, but you can certainly try the new version of Office 2008 Home edition.

Download multimedia software (free)

Download Firefox and plugins (free)

Colloquy - IRC (free)
Cyberduck - FTP (free)
Disco - lite version of Nero, with drag-and-drop ($29)

Office 2008 for Mac is a great word processor. If you want free, get NeoOffice.

All of your old Mac software will work on your new Mac (Rosetta!).

Actually it won't because the G3 Wallstreet PB came with OS9 not OSX

Boy I totally missed that thread! Lots of great links and software recommendations. There really should be a stickied mac software thread with all those links. Would be very useful for everyone especially mac noobs (like me).
