this should reassure you....most large jets can lose 2 and even sometimes 3 engines completely and still make a safe landing.

LOL... more likely to die of old age while waiting in the security lines. :)

If you're flying Southwest... make sure to get to the airport and check in early. That way you'll get an early boarding number and will have your pick of the seats.

Oh, and the reward facing seats just behind the bulkhead aren't all that. Look neat, but aren't any different than the rest.

This is just FUD. Flying is probably the most dangerous thing you can do, just behind punching a Polar Bear in the nutbag.

Are you getting dropped off at the airport or are you parking there? What time of day is your flight?

Stop flying economy and your complaints will evaporate.

BTW OP, you'll probably die.

If you booked a flight on any other airline than Quantas, then there is a good chance you'll be in a fatal accident.

bah, amateur.. try direct flight from LAX to Singapore, it's about 17 to 18 hours depending on wind and weather condition. Done it 3 times in the last 2 years.

Actually, that SIA direct flight is quite comfortable. They call it executive economy class, no regular economy class for that flight.

drink a couple beers at the airport bar before you fly. You will be fine.:beer::beer:

Engines? Losing engines is fine... its losing wings and wheels that concerns me...

I watched all 4 hours of footage of that plane with its wheels locked sideways... that was scary sh1t.

I'm doing the 24 hour early internet checkin... this should assure me a group "A" seat.

My biggest worry when flying is that at some point I'll have to take a crunch. Just make sure you get it taken care of before you go.

I never used to enjoy flying, but now, i realize it is the best, and safest way to get from point A to point B in the quickest amount of time.

If you are worried, think of the time you will be saving flying to your destination and think of the final outcome... arriving at your destination.

It really is safe and quite exhillerating!

Edit to say... DO NOT start drinking at the airport and do not drink heavily on the flight. If you start early, there is a chance you will not be able to fly if you are intoxicated. also, do not drink a lot in flight because you will get really REALLY dehydrated fast. Drink lots of water if you do chose booze.
PS... sorry you are flying SW.

Whats wrong with southwest? From what I read, they only fly 737s... are they pretty roomy?
