Just bought a Wine Glass at Yard Sale, how can I tell if its crystal??

Hi, just got a rather large wine glass at a local yard sale. The woman said she got it at Crate & Barrel in 1977, but I have no idea how to tell if its crystal, anyone have any ideas? Is there any kind of resonance test, if you make a ping on the glass or something?

If the glass shatters into a billion pieces, it's crystal.

Yeah, you can definitely tell... get a metal spoon and tap it. You'll hear a much longer chime with crystal.

thanks guys. I think its a Killer deal, as the glass is about 8 or 10" tall and its about the size of a mans full hand round.

I just checked for a glass like this online, and it was round $25, so i really made out.

BTW, can anyone also tell me how do I unsubscribe to threads, and Also, while I have been in ATf for a few years, I have just been a passer-by so to speak, but how do I get to set up links to system rigs as well.

YES Guys, I know that my PC cant hold a stick to most o yours in the ATf's in here. Just put all o that in my sig. cause I'm gonna get a new 875 and P4 soon, so I thought if I post any messages fo help, folks will know what I got.

Besides, it seems like the majority of guys who dont post in this catagory, are gamers, and this isnt what my rig is really for.
