I can normally get 'em through work for $323 at our on-site store. They order it, and it gets shipped to my house. I stopped by the store today to check how many were in stock in the warehouse and there was ONE B-stock (used, opened, returned, etc.) for only $275!!!! For an 80 hour Tivo!!! I immediately claimed it and I should have it by Monday.

I'm excited because of the price, but also because it'll be a great Christmas gift for the wife and I.

:D

Sorry, had to tell someone, I'm a dork :p

[edit] I made a poll in this forum asking if you watch more/less TV because of your PVR.

pvrs are cool. although i think that's a series 1, it still performs the same basic functions as a series 2. have fun, you'll love it. the service fee will hurt, though :(

I bought the 40 hour and stuck a 120gig drive in it. :) Upgrades are your friend with Tivo.

No matter what anyone says.

TiVo > ReplayTV

From someone that actually owned both.

 thanks, i didn't want to come off as a replaytv fanboy (lord knows it's easy enough)
though i like to put it like this: replaytv > tivo > nothing

If you haven't owned both you aren't qualified to comment. :D

True but I reserve the right to be a narrow minded opinionated Ferengi :D

That's how I was originally gonna get an 80hr Tivo... buy the "AT&T" branded one for $225 shipped after $50 rebate and throw a $70 80gbg 5400rpm Maxtor that I got off of the forums... but that would have been ~$295 so I was SO happy when I found this one :)

Have those of you who have a PVR found you watch more or less TV now that you have it? Hell, I should make a poll for this!

Definitely more, just not all at once.

More.

I watch what I want, when I want.

I can type in an actors name and have my ReplayTV record EVERY TV show and movie featuring that actor.

It will record ALL Star Trek episodes I want or The West Wing or whatever I choose.

The flexibility is just awesome.

If I'm not mistaken, Tivo has the ability to do the same thing. It has a wishlist and you can type in an actor/actresses name or any keyword and it'll record every tv show or movie that fits it. :)

That's why I loved my Tivo so much. Too bad I'm stuck with this POS replay.

can you set a record priority like if west wing is on at the same time as star trek so it records the one you'd rather watch?

^ hehe!

I have a feeling I'll be quite happy w/ my Tivo. That, and it will certainly have a WAF (wife acceptance factor) of 10!
