Just bought a Magic Jack. A problem.

I like it. I can call anywhere in Canada and the United States. The only problem I have with it is that it installs itself under 'CD ROMS' in Device Manager as cd-rom Drive F:

Every time I want to play a game that requires a cd or DVD be in the drive I put in my DVD-Rom drive D: but the game wants to run it off CD-rom (Magic Jack) drive F:

Is there anything I can do?

Try manually assigning another drive letter (near the end of the list) for the Magic Jack
See link for instructions .. but if Magic Jack is insisting on using the same letter as your
game cds, you may have an issue.

Thank you very much, bruceb! I deleted the F: and now only 1 drive (the proper one D🙂 shows up. Thanks again!

Hi, Bruceb. Unless I give the Magic Jack a drive letter (CD-ROM) it won't initiate.

I now have the same problem with games wanting to go with Driver F:

I don't know why Magic Jack is considered a CD-ROM drive. It's ridiculous!

tbh, i have never seen your issue. i have lots of DVD drives (virtual and physical) and no matter where i put a CD in, games accept them just fine. >.>

Why can't you have it as a second CD-ROM drive and label it G?
