GF broke her galaxy s4... no insurance, 6 months left on verizon family contract. Even if she switched to EDGE she was looking at $25 a month for a phone + 2 year contract.

Got a G3 on swappa for $235. Now I'm reading about the lollipop nightmare -- is EVERYONE having issues with 5.0 on the G3? Should I not upgrade it (if possible)?

I would have gotten her an Galaxy S5 but It would have been more money and we are kind of tired of Samsung. My S5 doesn't have any major issues though...

I think most lollipop issues on phones are with the update. I had major issues when I updated to lollipop on my Note 4. It was sluggish and apps crashed like crazy. A factory reset fixed the issues and I noticed a lot of apps I used to have just didnt show up in the play store. Probably because they would work on lollipop. I suggest doing the update on the G3 and if you find any issues do a factory restore/reset.

What issues are you talking about? I have an ATT G3 on a tweaked stock lollipop rom but haven't noticed any issues. Don't remember any issues in the first week before flashing either. There's still the annoying lag here and there but nothing show stopping.

I too had read about all the issues so had been avoiding it. Because it kept popping up to do the update, I ended up updating mine on accident, but I haven't had any issues with it since doing it. Everything works as normal.

I have a G2 and if you do a non-clean install and let google pull over all your stuff you're gonna have a bad time. Do the upgrade, and then do an immediate hard reset on it. There's a lot of apps and settings that aren't working in Android L that worked on Kit Kat. You'll have to wipe it out and go back to the Play store and re-download the ones that are compatible.

I'm having some issues on my G2. Pandora isn't stable at all and if I try to open chrome while pandora is streaming it will kill Pandora. Then the whole relaunch back to the loader is laggy. Overall it's a lot nicer looking, and clean. But there's some nags. I think most of the battery issues are rogue apps that didn't transfer to 5.0 well.
