I just purchased a home a need to get home owners insurance. I know nothing about any companies out there.

Does anybody know anything about:
AAA
State Farm
Farm Bureau
All State
or any others?

Thanks.

Who do you have your car insurance through? Talk to them. You might get a discount. With Allstate, I get a 15% discount on my car insurance for having my home insurance on the plan as well.

When I did it I just called and got quotes from the majors and chose based on price. Originally I had Allstate but switched to Nationwide when I moved auto insurance to them for the 2 policy discount.

All lenders I am aware of will not let you purchase a home until you have insurance already.. I assume you mean you WILL BE purchasing a home? Or have made an offer and had it accepted on one?

I use American Family.. Home Owners insurance is cheap.. couple hundred a year if I remember correctly..

Allstate IMO is best if you have good 800+ credit. Be sure and put all your cars etc on the policy too for better discount.

I rolled a truck last year and had a $900 tow off the side of a mountain and they gave me a rental Full size truck for 37 days cut me a check for the truck damage (which was way over what I paid to fix it) and Did'nt raise my rates.

Yeah, I've had an offer accepted and really don't know much about insurance. I've got quotes ranging from $300/yr with Farm Bureau to $800/yr with State Farm. Both with $250 deductibles with $125,000 replacement cost and $300,000 liability.

$800/yr? That doesn't sound right at all. I'm with State Farm at less than $300/yr, and they had the best package price (home, car, etc...) that I could find.
