Just bought a high zoom camera....whats that good for?

Why i have to put that im my camera??? Whats the use of that item?? Do i need to put that on my camera???

also have 10x optical zoom on the Kodak Z7590. it's used for things that are farther away (such as an object in the distance, preferably a hot Asian female).
