i just got this monitor today which i seem to like. But as my luck the day i decide to invest in a good monitor i come home and go on anandtech and see a link to dailytech with the title "The future of HDMI". It says many companies including AMD and Nvida are supporting this new technology "displayport" as a new standard for future monitors, instead of hdcp dvi. I dont want my monitor to be obsolete in 2 years due to video cards or other devices not supporting dvi. Do you think i should return my monitor or do you think it will last a good 4 years. Any thoughts would be appreciated =) .

Does your monitor support HDCP? If it does then you are future-proof, don't read too much into these new technologies. For now as long as you are HDCP compliant you should be good for the next couple of years.
