I was thinking of:

both zelda's (ocarina and wind waker - might get a wii for twlight),
mario kart,
F-Zero and
eternal darkness

Can i get some feedback/recommendations? :)
Singleplayer and multiplayer, anything fun!

I had a gamecube for about two days.
Rented a buttload of games from Hollywood video and they all sucked.
Tried to return it and they wouldnt let me.
Nobody wants the damn things!

Although after the N64 I should have known better.
3D does NOT automatically make every game cool.
Zelda and Mario were downright painful to play. Metroid wasnt any better.
Mario Kart was pretty neat though.

And Star Fox wasnt too bad, but then again that was always in 3D.

EDIT: For fifty bucks you did alright.
Keep it and whenever you see a GC title for cheap, grab it. There were a handful of decent games I just didnt like any of them.

sigh, well, it was only $50. If everyone agrees with you i guess i won't buy any games and just resell it.

The GC is a great platform.

Mario sports
Mario party
Mario Sunshine
Metroid
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Super Smash Bros. Melee
RE4

If you're going to get a Wii, you may want to take it back. Wii can play GC games.

RE4 is considered better on the GC, but I forget why. Either better graphics or better load times, or maybe both. I don't remember, I just know people say the GC one is better. :)

Both. The GC version is definitely better.

But yeah, no clue what that other guy above is talking about, as there are a lot of great GC games out there.

Definite gets:
Eternal Darkness
Zelda: Windwaker
Metroid
Prince of Persia series (not a GC exclusive, but great fun if you never played them)

Super Mario Sunshine wasn't that good. I think even Nintendo admits that to a certain extent, but the new one looks fantastic (on Wii).

Goto gc.ign.com and take a look at some of their top rated games.

The PS2 has a bunch of extra content though. An extra character to unlock, more weapons, but if looking pretty is more important than having more game go for the GC version.

If you are going to get a PS2, pick up RE4 for PS2. Although GC version looks prettier (but not by THAT much), PS2 version has a lot of exclusive extra content, including PRL 412 weapon, new costumes, Ada Wong's mission "Separate Ways," TRUE widescreen (GC is letterboxed), Ada's Report, and movie browser.

I'd add NBA Street 3 to the list, its a good game and worth a few chuckles playing as mario/luigi/peach. Though if you want to play as jordan gotta get NBA Street 2 instead.

If you're into top down shooters then Ikaruga should work.

For RPG I'd go with Tales of Symphonia.

I was about to suggest Tales of Symphonia before I even got into this thread, so consider it seconded.

Viewtiful Joe

I thought sunshine was fun, not great, but you can probably get it for cheap and it would be worth it.

As far as twilight princess, I'd suggest getting it for wii. I played it on gc, and it definitely feels like it was designed for wii controls. There were many times I needed a quick spin attack and wished I could just shake my left hand. GC version does have camera controls which I like, but they are a step backward from wind waker's. And I imagine the fishing and shooting is more fun. To sum up, once I get a wii, I'll get TP for it at some point and play through it again.

Ocarina of Time, RE4, Viewtiful Joe, Super Smash Bros, Double Dash, Price of Persia, Metroid Prime, Time Splitters 2, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Eternal Darkness, NFL Street 2, NBA Street 3 ... that might cover it on the GC for me.

SSX3 if you haven't played it on the other systems. A really fun game and no doubt really cheap now.
