Just bought a corsair 850w but no cpu power connector?

If its like some of the newer models I've seen, it's an 8-pin connector you can split into 2x 4pins, one of which will slip into the motherboard just fine.

That's correct. The specs on newegg state, "1 x 4-Pin/8-Pin EPS Connector." The connector might say EPS on it.

Yes you can break apart the 8 pin CPU connector, but I can't imagine a computer that needs an 850W PSU that wouldn't have a motherboard with an 8 pin CPU connector anyway.
