Just bought a 89 dodge caravan TURBO :)

2.5l auto 134k miles paid $800.
It looks like ass and is filthy but runs and drives great. The turbo is only 2 years old and sound nice, I ll be running 12s in the 1/4 in no time . Alright maybe not but it will make a nice winter beater/crap hauler.

Yes they are, and someone out there is running 12s with his minivan...too bad his page is down, I can find some vids if anyone wants though. There's a good one out there of him stomping on a Z28 (newer one, like a 96 or something)

These things aren't exactly easy to find. I about missed this one because they didn't advertised what engine was in it. I was about to call about a v6 one but decided you never know and gave them a call. I about crapped myself when he said it was a turbo. Now if he would have told me it was also a 5 speed I probably would have 🙂.
 
Last week in the parking lot of the grocery store, was a Grand Caravan with a frickin wing on top. Otherwise totally stock looking. Unbelievable, LOL.
 

I'm glad you like the turbo, but watch out for the automatic transmission. They are god awful starting in 1989 through (at least) the mid-90's. :|

Unless you're referring to the 3.0 V6 trannies, then that isn't true. The 3 spd autos they put with the 2.2s/2.5s are pretty damn strong
 
Yeah its only the 4speed od tranny that is a POS and a very big one at that. Any v6 I would have bought would have had to be a 3 speed.

I got mine replaced once, and a week ago, i had to get the replacement rebuilt.

Man, I've never seen cheap HP like the Dodge Turbos. My gf got an Omni GLH for $500, and that was the most fun I've ever had driving a car. We used to fight over who would get to drive.

My friend had a modded turbo Caravan in high school. It was hilarious smoking the tires at stoplights.

These vehicles are a lot of work, but worth it.

The first order of business for you should be putting on a huge straight-through exhaust. 😉

Yeah I was looking at it yesterday and was thinking the one thats on it is kind of rusty 🙂. I think 3 inch from the turbo back with it bending out before the rear tire ought to do it 🙂.

I am going to have to figure out a way to get an intercooler in here put some extra gaugues in it and start upping the boost.
