I went and bought this card 2 days ago, just put it in yesterday.

I was using the onboard video on my ATI Xpress 200 mobo, and couldn't really play much. Even Neverwinter Nights at 800x600 all low settings was stuttering. Now I can play 1280x1024(my CRTs max) all max settings with 4x AA.

Just for fun I ran 3dmark05 before and after, it was 602 now its 3973. Just so happy I thought I'd tell you all.

Also this is the first nvidia card I've ever had so I have some questions.

1) What are the best drivers to use? (currently running 84.21 that came with the card)
2) How do I get the overclocking tab?
3) What are good Idle temps? (currently at 48C Idle, I believe thats good)
4) What is Rivatuner and do I need/want it?

Google and run 'coolbits' for ocing. Then set the view in the drivers to advanced. Then select manual ocing...

personally i'd run 'detect optimum' then see how that goes in games & slowly work up from there.

Excellent idle temps, my 6600GT with a Zlaman VF700CU i was idling at 47'C and loading in the low 60s.

That was easy thanks Dug. It seems my card is running at 420 core / 400 memory rather than 400 / 400 to start with.

I clicked detect optimal and it said 439 core / 447 memory. But then again the box say you need a 350 watt PSU with 18 amps on the 12V and I only have a 300W PSU with 15 or 16A on the 12V.

I'm going to order a new psu soon anyway so I hope it will go up.

I set the core to 475 and Memory to 450 (900?) and played Lego Star Wars 2 for 12 minutes. Everything worked fine. I know 12 minutes isn't long enough to test for stability but I don't feel like gaming right now. I'll see if it can hold those settings tomorrow.

EDIT: I should also point out that I really hate first person shooters (or any shooters for that matter).

Awesome. I'm very interested to see how far you can take it, but 475/900 will give you a nice boost from stock :)

I set it to 475/900 and it crashed after about 45 - 50 mins, I decided to go 450/900 and I just got done playing 5 hours of Neverwinter Nights at 1280x1024 all settings max and no problems. However, I don't think Neverwinter nights is that stressful on the card. I'm gonna try Lego star wars 2 after I eat and see how that works.

EDIT: played Lego star wars 2 at 450/900 for an hour and it was fine.

Try to get as far as you can with the memory. That will give you the biggest gains. Keep increasing till you start getting slight artifacting then lower a few mhz. 5 to 10 or so. Memory bandwith is the main advantage that the GT has over the GS.
