Just bought a 2004 Acura TL

Picked up my new 2004 Acura TL 5AT w/Navi on Saturday. This car is a blast to drive. Of course, I'm babying my new one for now, but I certainly put the demo through it's paces. Had it over 100 on the freeway and it felt like I was going 60. Smooth as silk. Stereo system absolutely kicks ass and the interior is one of the best I have ever seen. The Navigation system with the voice recognition is just too cool

Cross shopped the G35, Maxima and A4. None of them compare. The TL gives you soooo much more the the same/less money. A4 was way too small and underpowered, plus interior was blah. I actually liked the looks & roominess of the maxima interior, but it just felt cheap and the exterior was too ugly for me to be seen in for the next 4-5 years. I really like the G35 though. IMO it's better looking from the outside than the TL, but the interior (and the plethora of gadgets) is what swayed me to the TL. Plus, I'm not doing rear-wheel drive again in a Chicago winter.

Doesn't that TL have that new 6-channel audio system? I've heard radio commericals about this Panasonic 6-channel discrete audio system on the TL.

Yep, 5.1 surround with DVD-Audio and DTS-CD. Now I've got to go pick up some DVD-Audio's after work

Will try to post some pics tonight. It's Silver with the Quartz (Dark Gray) interior.

 

Just out of curiousity, why didn't you consider the TSX? Isn't it the same size as an Accord?

But the TSX only has an I-4 engine.... so you'll have to rev it high to get some decent power...

Don't know, I've still got a cheap old Motorala V120T, that certainly is not bluetooth enabled. There are a bunch of posts about which phones are good at http://www.acura-tl.com

Yeah the TSX is only 200 HP I think, plus the interior is smaller and not as nice as the TL. And it didn't have all the gizmos the TL has

Sting has a great DVD-A out that is recorded superbly. Have fun with the demo disk as well, specifically track 17.

What sucks is that Sony has a competing format called Super Audio CD, so anything released under Sony's plethora of labels isn't going to make it into DVD-A format

What interest rate did you get?

I had a check in hand from that Captial One Auto finance for 48mo at 3.99%, the finance guy at the dealership offered my 3.49 though, so I took it. (Although I put down about $15K and my cedit score is around 800 so I'm sure that helped a little).
