I haven't done this before, and I have to wait for some components to ship from Dell before I order the rest, the only things i'm iffy on are vid card and memory, so here goes...

This is what is already coming..

This is what I am going to order, all from newegg..

Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 - PCI OEM
ATI All-In-Wonder RADEON 9700 PRO 128MB DDR 8X AGP RETAIL

I might wait for the radeon 9800 pro AIW, but don't know if the price difference will be worth it. Maybe it'll drive the 9700pro down, or maybe I'll just get a 9700 NP AIW. I also had no clue about the ram, i didn't want to spend another $80 for the pc3500 corsair, but may be open to Kingston HyperX pc3500. Other than that, I just want to wait for my dell stuff (got in on the double 15% bargains) to ship before I buy the new stuff. Any comments and/or suggestions are welcome, mostly because I'm really bored right now.

hehehe,

Looks like a nice system.

I'm a big fan of Crucial RAM over Corsair, but corsair is good quality also.
I've always been a big fan of the Nvidia chipset's not because of speed or being better than ATI, but I love the Driver architecture. Since the drivers are always being updated and can be used on all their cards, it is well worth it. You always get new drivers regardless of how old your card is....Whew, I'll step off my soap box now 😀

ATI's All-in-wonder cards have been good for me when I needed a card that did everything. The gaming was a little slower for me, but that was before the Radeon days. Dunno how well they work for gaming now, but they are great for a all in one card!

Just my 2 cents 😀

the allinwonder cards use the exact same chip and i think memory as the regular radeons. this is true for the 9700 and 9800 series at least. i would rather have an nvidia card as well, but I would have to wait for the 5900 to come out. I was also going to get crucial ram, that is all i have ever bought, but for a small price difference I can get faster timings, and hopefully a decent overclock.
