Just beat Silent Hill 2 - scariest game yet!

Wow.. puts Resident Evil to shame in terms of fear that it gies you.

While RE had lots of jump out at you/shock the heck out of you scenes, SH2 gave you a lasting feeling of being afraid and depressed.

The game didnt even have to do anything to scare you.. it just was.

I am looking forward to the next one now.. just need to get to April!

Silent Hill 2 isn't as good as the first one story wise but its still scary.

Edit: I bought it the day it was released for PS2 and I spent the entire night playing, Playing that game in the dark at night is probably the scariest thing you can do.

yep, i love SH1 & 2. they are the scarist video games ever made. Although SH2 has better graphics and stuff, SH1 has a better story and is much scarier. I could used to pass SH1 in 2 hour, me and my awesome "wack and run" skills. And for SH2, i don't have a ps2 myself, so i went to my friend's house one night and passed the game. my friend was pissed at me because i beat his game while he wanted to do it himself. hehe

to me silent hill 2 wasnt as scary as the first one..

resident evil zero is worse than sh2... its gonna take me a year to beat the game at this pace

YES!

Well worth the entire trip through the game.

While it may not be that long (around 10 hours) the whole game just messes with your mind and plunges you into a world of such madness and darkness you come out feeling depressed.

After playing it I reccomend reading the very indepth plot analysis of the game over at gamefaqs to really appreciate what is going on in the game.

It was a great game and I wish there were more to it!

I picked up the original Res for GC off of FS/T for $10 bucks

Still haven't played it yet, but I hear it's pretty different from the first one on the PSX?

yah it's different... scarier... if you still remmeber wehre every monster and stuff is in the psx resevil, forget it becuase some of htem moved 'n' stuff

It wasnt a shock horror game.

It was a game that put so much fear in you that simply walking around the game put you on the edge of your seat.

You gotta play it alone in the dark at night.. I had to stop playing after a few hours each time because I felt so depressed and freaked out I needed to walk into a nice lit room and listen to happy music.

It's the first game I have ever played that got me very depressed, but I think it does that on purpose.

Game messes with you.. good stuff. You shoudl at least rent it sometime.

im a pos when it comes to scary games. i beat the thing and the game freaked the sh!t out of me. im only 15 though, so its okay. i felt like it was a chore to play it.

I thought the first res evil was scarier myself......but still I love the Silent Hill games.....gonna have to get a PS2 when #3 is released so I can play it.

I love the way the game fuks with your mind! Very cool environments too...!

i had to play Silent Hill (PSX) with my friend. I was spooked all the time. I got him to play it at night in total darkness for 10 minutes. Was funny opening the door and scarying him.

LordJezo - You keep using the word "depressed", is that really what you mean? I played Silent Hill 1 and it certainly was scary but it didn't make me sad.

Not one of my favorites.... I think they went a LITTLE NUTS on the fog. I understand that it is neat but the WHOLE game does not need fog... really

Yes, I mean depressed.
