The DX7 path can perform miracles.Weird.. I didnt think it would run COD 2 but with lower res (1024 x 768) and smoke down it does! interesting.

Even Oblivion, I believe there's an "Oldblivion" mod that forces it to run dx8.1. Not sure what the performance is though.

9800 pro is an almost timeless beast too, plus it supports DX9 - even now they go for between 50 and 100 bucks.

Despite it being a slower part, I could argue the Radeon 8500 had more "staying" power simply because it can run games such as BF2 whereas the GF4 Ti cards simply cannot.
