I was thinking Polish dog has considerable amount of carbohydronate, but nutrition fact says it contains next to none. The 2g of carbohydrate is sugar and it's probably from added corn syrup.

Per serving(56g):

190cal

17grams fat, 8g of which is saturated
25mg cholesterol
460mg sodium
0g fiber
2g carb as sugar
7g protein.

Only 40 Cals comes from cab and protein.

Boy.. this can't possibly be good for me :Q:Q

380cal in pretty much pure fat+200cal in two slices of bread I used as buns+150cal in carb from Vanilla Coke=730cal unhealthy dinner :(.

I still have to feed myself another 750Cal today while staying healthy, I think I need tons of protein. Sausage/dogs are almost pure fat and isn't worth much more than drinking down cooking oil. Bread and soda are both carb and eggs are good protein source, but if I load myself with enough proteins from eggs, cholesterol is too high.

Say you're eating 300 cals. What differences does it make to your body when you take them in different forms?

1. 300cals from two cans of Vanilla Coke, mostly carb

2. 300cals from three slices of bread, mostly carb and small amount of protein

3. 300cals from Polish dogs, mostly fat

4. 300cals from Chicken breast, mostly protein

Fat is actually a good thing. It causes the body to release glucagon, which not only makes you feel satisfied, but it also triggers the breakdown of carbs. Carbs on the other hand release insulin, which triggers the body to store fat.

I wonder what your body's doing right now...

Uh, no. Stop reading those Zone books like they were bio texts. Eating too much fat causes the fat to be stored as fat, and eating lots of saturated fat puts you at a high risk for heart disease. Bottom line: hot dawgs are bad news.

Word. Someone else on these forums finally acknowledges the advantages of keto.

I agree with people on diet that nutrition facts counting is not fun. My power plant is very inefficient and it takes me 3,500-4,000 basal cals, close to 5,000 when I work out and exercise alot. Failing to meet that usually results in fatigue and weight loss. Taking it all in carb or fat can't be too good for me. Eggs have about 6grams of protein each and it's great except for it's extremely high cholesterol content.

Taking 3,500 Cal a day in good balance of protein, carb and fat from easy to cook food without exceeding daily values of sodium and cholesterol is no easy task..

I was gonna say. How do you do it? Most canned, preserved, or easy to cook foods have your recommended level of sodium in 1 meal. The only exceptions I can think of is probably tuna fish.

Yep. I've been doing alot of eating at home lately and let the mother once again enjoy cooking for her son... I haven't gone to a fast food in a week :D:D. Eating out expose me to too much sodium. Spaghetti with minimal sauce, plain chicken breat, soda, yogurt, cereal with lots of banana... These requires cooking, but I can handle this much.

For fiber, I'm pretty much stuck with adding crap load of lettuce my hamburgers and having salad without dressing.

Well, that's not really 'fiber' its more like roughage. You want fiber, swallow a length of hemp twine and yank it through the other end. :Q

This thread reminds me for some reason of those pepperoni beef sticks you find at your local convenience store. If you ever get the urge to eat one, pull it out of the package and, after you've bitten an end off, give the tip a good squeeze. The sight of yellow oily goo oozing out will permanently eradicate your desire to consume these things.

To me, polish dogs are the same. You really don't know what's in these "soft meats"... (ok, no "hard meat" jokes now...)
