that makes me expendable no?

Well, I'm a temp so I am inherently expendable, but come on! The CIO was like just sit tight and wait for the action to happen!

Guarantee I do nothing till at least... 3.

I've been pretty much given the full time position already but I don't see why they would give it to me when they cant find anything for me to do!

So who else is at a state job doing nothing right now?

Why can't you use some personal initiative and FIND something to do?

oh wait...I forgot...you're a state employee in training.

Go bitch to Oldsmoboat...he may have a quart of sympathy in a paper bag with your name on it...😀

Well I am at a state job on AT right now...

That is not to say I have *nothing* to do, but it is somewhat slow as most of what I need to work on is waiting on supplies ordered three weeks ago.

State job? So you work for the gov? If so then you won't get fired... because in this case, you're not doing your job only if you're actually doing anything productive. 😛

You should appreciate it. I worked for my municipality for two summers, spent half of them surfing all day. I actually ran out of places to surf and started taking long walks or bathroom breaks.

I'm a temp at a corporation now, got stuff to do, but it's so mundane and retarded, I need to surf to keep my sanity.

I am on a state job as well although im on staff. Two things to get you through the day: Pogo.com and Kongregate.com

My internship was like that at times. Had 3 people to do work that really only required 1, so there was a lot of downtime and pretending to be busy. Then they moved us from a busy, crowded part of the office to another floor that was practically deserted, and we didn't even have to pretend to be busy anymore.

I did practically all of my homework during those years on the clock. I'd kill for that kind of free time these days.
