Just as I am starting to like Apple, they go and run stupid commericals

One smart thing they did is that they kept saying they both run Microsoft office.

Apparently this is aimed at people who've never used a mac.

well, apple's hardware and software rock but thier commercials suck. the have better software then PC's and the hardware is usually superior (simply because apple makes it all so there are less incompatibilities) but atleast they try. frankly, microsoft's commercials aren't much better. in fact, they suck imo.

Hello tool. There is nothing superior about apple hardware, so get over your self and let your self come to the realization that you have been duped by paying a premium for inferior hardware, congrats.

Between these and the commerical with the cubicle song, Apple sure isn't doing anything to appeal to a business professional demographic - you know, the people who actually have money and make purchasing decisions...
 
I agree OP. I was quietly becoming a big apple fan, but I find those ads are so stupid and designed to appeal to morons that it has made me think twice about buying a macbook.

Why do they portray the Apple as being young and hip when it is, in fact, older than the PC?
 
Yes, those commercials are very lame. As somebody said they could potentially turn off a vast majority of people with purchasing power, and that can be a real loss. It also conveys a sort of "You must be too stupid to use a PC so you should use a Mac" sort of attitude which I think would piss off many potential Mac buyers.

Sometimes Apple has a great marketing thing going on, and sometimes they don't.

Yes, I use a MAC and used a Mac. Apple hardware is clearly inferior and slower than any PC I use on a daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, bi-annual, yearly basis etc.. Let me put it to you this way, a machine outfitted with a Pentium II processor, 7200RPM HDD and 384MB ram Windows XP Pro is worlds faster than ANY APPLE COMPUTER I've EVER used.

Hell if apple makes such great machines, then why is it I had to convert my friend over from his mac to a PC I just built for him? Sure he wants to play CS:S which he can't play on his mac, but after using his mac, I can see WHY he would watch to switch, it's painfully slow! (17" Widescreen iMac with OSX included) Hell I had to use a mac on a daily basis for about 6 months (OS9) and it crashed more often then my PC at home! I've used macs with OSX and they're even SLOWER then when it had OS9 and STILL crash. This is ONE reason why I hate macs.
