Just another reason to dis-like standardized testing!

I like standardized testing, some people are idiots and need to be told that they're not really like the other average students

How much per month? What's the interest rate?

well it really depends on what you want. BUT its $99 per letter! interest is at a low low 35%!

yeah, like Floridians

Gov. Jeb Bush, while inspecting storm-damaged Pensacola High School, said the FCAT will be delayed for some school districts, but he will not let children in even the worst-hit areas skip the test altogether.

"The counties that have had the largest damage and longest number of days out will be the ones that will take the test last," Bush said. "We're going to be as flexible as possible, but we're not going to lower standards and we're not going to say 'Well, the trauma of this means that we're going to move back from our accountability system."'

What a jerk. :|

If 19 days makes the difference between a kid passing & not passing, he probably shouldn't have passed in the first place.

As for Florida not bending rules to allow everyone to pass, why should they?

If you start bending them to make people happy why have them in the first place?

If your kid flunks, he flunks. If he needed help you should have helped him. Don't blame it on the hurricane.

I attended public schools in grade school, & they spend 80% of their time doing nothing (ie telling the little sh!t in the back row to quit eating glue, & the guy in the corner to quit poking the girl in front of him).

For perspective, in 4th grade I was sick for over 3 weeks consecutively. I was able to complete each day's work in around 45 minutes at home INCLUDING the "homework" that would have been sent home had I spent the day at school.

Bingo.

Agreed. The kids who are affected aren't going to get any better in those 19 days. Look, the kid couldn't pass 1st grade damnit, he ain't going to learn too much in 3 weeks (4 if only weekdays).

I'm just amazed that they are more concerned about getting back for the damn test then to get back and learn the important stuff.

but it is true that 19 days will not really effect them. Either they know the stuff or they do not.

The kid in the article failed FIRST grade. I think he's got bigger worries than trying to pass this test.
