Just another quick question about Dual Channel

okee doke, got 2 256mb sticks of corsair pc2700 xms and i want to run them in dual channel on my 8rda+. just 2 questions. which slots do i use? im kinda confused by the manual @_@ Here's a pic of the slots I'am using 😉 are the hilighted ones the right slots? also, if so, is there anything i need to change in the bios to enable it or something? me = n00b to running ram dual channel, thanks in advance! 🙂

Yes, you're correct about the slots. As long as you have a stick on the third slot (the bottom one in your picture closest to the edge of the board), you can put another stick in either of the top two slots to get the Dual Channel. There's nothing in bios you have to adjust.

Or you can put 256+256 in the top two slots and 512 in the bottom slot to get Dual Channel as well.

thanks guys 🙂 only got one more question. are there any programs (something like sandra2003 or aida32) that can verify that im running in dual channel or do i just assume? 😵

not on my asus

do this
download memtest86 and go at it without dual channel mode and notice thd ram mb/s
then "enable" dual channel, and go in and see what the mb/s is

Some mobo needs an updated bios flash to get the dual channel posting at startup. I needed to do this with my ABIT NF7-S. Now when I boot up, it says dual channel enabled. But like everyone says..just as long as its in the right slots...it should be automatic. I have mines on Dimm 1 and 3
