Just another idiot posting a parody thread that has no humor.

Okay, I'm getting sick of people b!tching about their "Nazi" HOAs. If you don't like it then don't buy the house. If you don't agree with the rules then organize your neighbors and get them changed.

Whining about your HOA on here isn't going to get them to stop sending you letters.

/Quickly puts on flame suit. 😀

HOA's are good for a few things, like maintaining property values by keeping the neighborhood at certain standards.

But they are a PITA more often than not.

He must head one up in his neighborhood 😛

And maybe the OP should read the other thread. He DID read the handbook and he was within the laws. So the HOA can piss off!

I really dont think this was a parody per say. I think he was honestly bitching about people bitching about HOAs
The 10-point scale does not always apply to parodies. It can also be applied to rants. SynthDude2001 was rating the op's rant a 0 out of 10.

Well, the HOA where I live has some stupid rules but I generally abide by them. There is a group of homeowners in a certain village who actually got together and changed the rules regarding parking on the streets.

I've gotten a couple letters about my lawn but that's about it in the 5 years I've owned my house.

I'm just saying that there are much more productive ways to deal with them than to complaining to a bunch of people who don't live in your area on the internet.

Basically, yeah...I see this as a parody not-so-cleverly disguised as a poor rant. 😛

tnitsuj's beef was not with the rules, but with the asshole from the HOA. Then it quickly spiraled into a discussion of how sucky some HOA's are.

No, I don't.

I did read the other thread. He said the laws stated that he could hang a flag. Seems that tacking a couple flags to your door doesn't fall under that definition. I take hanging a flag to mean hanging it from a rod attached to your eaves or outside wall.

I don't think ATOT has anything to do with productivity. 🙂

And that is the problem. If you have to read a fuggin' novel to know what you can do in YOUR OWN house, I say fvck 'em 😛

I love not really with any type of HOA as well and I live in a fairly nice neighborhood. I stuck a giant 8 foot tall inflatable penguin up on my lawn for Xmas. It even has light inside it, you can see it from hundreds of feet away. No HOA to complain about that not meeting code or anything 😀

i'd venture to guess most people are more tired of dumbasses irrelevantly complaining about sh!t than other people complaining about their HOA's... go die hypocrit.

People do that here. No problems with Christmas decorations here. In fact there is a contest the HOA does and they give awards to the house with the most lights and one for the most tasteful decorations. They get a little sticky if you don't have your lights down by New Years Day though.

Perhaps my topic title is a wee bit inflammatory. I just thought the other title was also inflammatory so I was parodying it a bit.
😉

Merry Christmas! :lips:

The only thing worse than a HOA that is run by a bunch of butt-munches with overly strict rules is a HOA that has reasonable rules but won't enforce them.

The latter would be my neighborhood. For the first two years, we had houses being painted f'd up colors, people not taking care of their yards, and vans with ladders parked on the curb and in yards. The HOA finally got serious in the last year after a multitude of complaints and our subdivision is better for it.
