Oh man, i added some dynamat (material they use in cars to reduce vibrations and noise) and my case is almost inaudible except for this very small murmur. Running (3) 80mm too!!! Temperature is up by only a little bit. I'm a happy camper ... :D

where did you get it from and how much was it? I'm trying to find the cheapest place, as $50 just to do my case is a bit on the high side.

yes! i'm glad i'm not the only one doing this to my case :D. anyways, i got the dynamat at

www.crutchfield.com

it cost me about $24 including shipping for a sheet that covers my side panels and top ... and pieces of dynamat here and there. i have a midtower case ... but damn i'm just glad this beast can finally be shut up :D. Good luck!

The dynamat was really easy to install - it's self-adhesive so all you really have to do is cut and stick.

I've read that Dynamat has an odor to it that doesn't go away for about a month. Any problems with that?

no odor at all. there was a slight (very very slight) odor when i installed it but things have been quiet and smelling just fine ever since. it definitely did not stink for months. :D

I'm about to put 3 120mm fans in my case and even though I'll have pots hooked up to them I'm still concerned that they might be too loud. It's not a big deal for me but I may have to get som Dynamat too.

Thanks for the info.

Accoustic foam Look for the dampening foam, its a vinyl pad similar to dynamat for 1/2" accoustic foam on top, vibration and sound reducing

yeah, try the acoustical foam that tonec is talking about. Looks pretty good, but I don't know how much better it is than dynamat. the dynamat, depending on how much you put in your case, will make that thing a lot heavier ;). Good luck!

As the article states, the odor was noticable at first (it wasn't overpowering but definately noticable). What I did was leave the roll unrolled overnight in my cool basement, and the smell was largely gone. After a few days it was basically gone. I now have been running the setup for a month and can't smell it at all.

I use dynamat super-no odor, cool foil surface over polyurethane.
I got it locally from pepboys auto. Any decent auto sound department should have it or similar. The stuff is heavy, so shipping can kill you. It is easy to apply, just cut to shape with scissors, and pull out the backing as you stick it down. Be sure that all surfaces are clean and oil-free. Don't expose more adhesive than you have to at any time, it sticks aggressively and doesn't come off easily. I used a small wallpaper seam roller and the flat rounded point of a table knife for the remote corners.

Don't expect any miracles. This stuff is for vibration dampening. It just stops the case from singing in harmony with the fans, and has virtually no sound absorbing properties at all. Won't do a thing to silence the scream coming from that high output 60mm black label Delta.....

Anyone here have any idea on what I should use to quiet a 60mm Delta Fan. If Dynamat is only for vibration, what should I use to help soak up the sound of the Delta.

I've been into car audio for a while, dynamat is a very good sound dampening product, but it costs so much $$$.. I would look into getting High Temp Mastic

I plan on using Dynamat in my full tower case, as soon as I pay off the dual 933s on my credit card....
