what exactly is a legacy port and would shutting uneeded legacy ports help to keep BSODs from coming up for things accessing stuff they arent supposed to access...sorry sounds really awkward.. 🙂
 
A legacy port is an "outdated" port...like your com serial and perallel ports (joystick and printer ports).

Most of the stuff today uses USB 2.0 or Firewire.

If you want to disable them...do so.
