I just got myself a Thermaltake XP-90 complete with a 92mm Thermaltake SilentCAT and want to install it this weekend, but didn't really think about the power to the fan.

On my standard setup I have the standard Intel HSF which gets it's power from the 4-pin connector. Unfortunately the SilentCAT is a 3-pin connector. Is there such a thing as a 3-pin to 4-pin adaptor?

Just out of interest the manual says the 4-pin has the following criteria. The first 3 I understand but what about the fourth I presume it's what reports the RPM to the BIOS and other software.

1 GND
2 CPU FAN PWR
3 CPU FAN IN
4 CPU FAN PWM

Does the the SilentCAT just need to be connected to 1-3 or 2-4 if no adaptor exists?

Cheers all.

CPU FAN PWM is a Monitoring connect which controls the speed of the Fan so it's not necessary and also I've seen 4 to 3 Pin adapters...Try here
