Just saw that Newegg is now carrying the Soltek KT266A and KT133A boards. It has always been a little rough finding the Solteks in the states, and it's nice to see a dealer like Newegg carrying them...good price too...:)

/me wonders how newegg does it

you know... after they lull us into complacency with their low prices they'll slowly raise them and no one will know cuz we assume they're the lowest price.

meanwhile... gonna get one of those and test it out for us or is the dough being saved for the k7s6a?

Not sure...I'm torn between the new ECS, the Iwill XP333-R, or that... I'm leaning toward the Iwill right now since I already have two 8KHA+'s here... Also, if the DDR voltage on the ECS is not adjustable, I may not be interested...

Dear Mr. Insane:

Soltek has always made very good very cheap boards, and not just recently, usually for English and German
markets. Kind of an insider secret until now.

As far as choices and the IWILL:

Edit:While you're cruising - look for first sightings of IBM 120GXP and Promise ATA133TX2

Looks like NewEgg isn't too keen on SolTek anymore.

You can find the 133A board if you dig deep, but the 266A is nowhere to be found.

apparently Soltek has had distribution problems in the USA. Perhaps a new distributor is in order. This comes from my local distributor who used to sell a ton of Soltek boards.

I like both the Iwill XP333 and the ECS K7S6A, but I need to know how they will be priced to make a final decision. I think the ECS K7S6A will be lower priced due to the single chip solution.

Good find.. Soltek boards are indeed very hard to find. I tried a couple weeks ago and didn't find any professional companies selling them. Guess there is now ;)
