Heres my final list:
Antec super lanboy
Ocz 450 watt ocz modstream
Amd Athlon 64 3200+ Venice
Msi k8n neo4-f
1 gig patriot value (2x 512mb)
connect 3d x800xl 256 mb

Total w/shipping 1030$

Okay first and foremost how long will this last me for if i want to game at high res at 12x10?
how big of a diffrence will i see coming from a p4 2.6 533, 512 mb ram, and an 9800 pro?
And finally since i dont game at super high res or dont turn on aa or af would it be smarter to downgrade to a 6600 gt for around 80$ less? Thx

Should last a year or two at high 12X10.
A fairly large difference in new games from your old systems.
Stick with the x800XL. Way better performance than the 6600GT and even better when you overclock it.

Stick with the X800XL...the 6600GT is pretty much a last resort.

You'll notice a big difference. My old comp is similar to your old one, and I noticed a huge difference moving to this new one. And it should last you about two years.

Case: check
PSU: check
CPU: check
Mobo: check
Ram: check
Video card: hmm... might be overkill if you don't game at high res and don't use aa/af. It might be a good idea to downgrade to a 6600gt to save some cash, as I honestly think a 6600gt will last you another year at least, probably two. It will be enough to run Longhorn, I'm almost positive, if you plan on upgrading to that when it comes out. Though it looks like others disagree. I simply hate ATI's drivers, so I admit I'm biased.

You'll see a huge improvement over your old setup. Have fun!
