Just a few COD2 quirks.

This is a pretty good game and it would be so much better if these quirks were all fixed upon release. Despite them, though, the game still shines. Action. There is plenty of action to be had. Always crazy, always shaking always enemies to kill. This game will keep you busy spelling F-U-N till the end. And Killer graphics. The engine does a beautiful job of rendering backgrounds, especially around industrial settings, very impressive. People and vehicles aren't done as impressive as other games, but still look pretty good. Now here are the quirks.

I walked into a German controlled house and I walked into a room to find a teammate. WTH was he doing there? Congregating with the enemy, eh? So I shot him.

Enemies know where you are. Still. Talk about old gameplay tactics that don't seem to bother people as much as zombies in the closet. You can't hide, they will come.

Teammates' AI is pretty decent however, they seem to be a little slow to protect you from a stray when they... let's say when they aren't "activated" by a battle.

Enemies also seem to have really good aim at times, even when they just have their hand out shooting. However, your teammates have horrible aim.

Sometimes it feels like enemies pop up at times just to come after you. Always strays out there it seems.

The captain automatically knows the house is clear after you killed the last enemy, which is kinda stupid.

Sometimes the team doesn't get it that the enemies are gone, so they remain like Thoth093 says in position.

I find it a bit immersion-breaking to wander back into a room and see all my teammates in "action pose" mode. Lets me know I need to move along to get their scripts running again.

It's a fun game in short spurts and graphically lovely -- those smoke effects still boggle me. But I find it tiring in long stretches.

My biggest problem so far is not being able to tell (quickly enough) who's an enemy. The cross-hair doesn't turn to red in all cases and in the heat of battle it's hard to wait to see it register red or white.

Another issue I have is that my team tends to wait around until I've triggered some event. Once that event occurs, they run and do something useful.

Enemies on the radar seem to appear and disappear even though the enemies are still active. Not sure what controls that.

Overall I've enjoyed the game quite a bit. I never played the first COD so I can't compare the two.

updated OP with a more positive view so that people don't think the game sucks completely and that these drawbacks seriously hinder the game. Also fixed up one of the drawbacks making it actually worse, but I still think the game rocks - Better than Quake4.
