well today i felt dareing and took the voltage of my p3 600mhz up to 1.9 volts

well to my suprise it helped a lot... before my pc couldn't post anything above 780mhz (from 600) now im running it at 6x138 (828mhz) it posts all the way up to 6x142 but it's very unstable in windows...

the great thing is that it still runs cool.. thanks to my golden orb

there really isn't any point to this story.. just might be a good read for people who might care :)

tomorrow im going to try 6x140.. see how stable thtat is... crazy how far my p3 can be pushed...

LOL. Trust me man its not your golden orb thats keeping your P3 cool, its the P3's themselves, which dont generate athlon type fuming temperatures.

The orb isn't very good at cooling and the P3 likes to run real cool at maximum speed. Get a better heatsink and lap the fcpga core.

P3's soak up voltage and keep coming back for more.

My P3-933 at 1050Mhz has been going strong for a year now at 1.95VCore.

No point in getting a different HSF at the speed you're at. Not even generating as much heat as a Duron underclocked to something like 500Mhz! :D

The FC-PGA core is also very smooth... Lapping will actually make the surface more irregular.
