Killing a killer. Seems like a cycle to me.
Hmmm, I'm kind of on the fence about this. While I have no real moral qualms with capital punishment in cases where guilt is unquestionable, I also realize that our system is not perfect, innocent people do get convicted, sentenced to death, and put to death, and that alone is reason enough for me to not look too favorably on the death penalty.

But if anybody has earned a needle in the arm, it's that guy (and his unrepentant sidekick).

Good.

If they did not execute this man, there is something wrong with our system.

You know, I'm generally opposed to the death penalty except in cases of genocide or serial killing (or if you kill one of my relatives). Here, I think-ultimately-the evidence will show Muhammed is a serial killer, and one of the worst because he held an entire region in fear for several weeks. He's in the mold of Timothy McVeigh, IMHO.

I won't cry if he fries.

Bravo Virginia!

This is exactly what this sorry excuse for a human deserves. Taking pleasure from hunting kids? I hope I can piss on his grave.

Death, Life in prison without parole. Either way is fine with me.

As long as we can be assured that he will never see the light of day again as a free man, that's all I care about.

The death penalty is almost too good for John Allend Muhammad. He deserves every punsihment that is coming to him, and then some on top of that.

I wonder how long it will take for it to be acted upon, assuming of course the judge goes along with the jury's recommendation that is... (I think he will)

5 years?
10 years?

Bah! Just throw him in Gen Pop and let someone shiv him. Death by lethal injection seems too nice for a guy who had no problem in shooting kids, blowing off peoples heads, or worse, giving them a gut shot...

I would argue that if anyone deserved the death penalty, these two fvcktards do. However, I still maintain that killing Muhammed and/or Malvo just brings us down to their barbaric level. Why don't we just torture them while we're at it?

Well let's see...sure its barbaric...but punishment should fit the crime eh? I live in the area where this all happened... my girlfriends little brothers friend's dad was one of the victims. I even met the little kid at a childrens birthday party i was chaperoning. Should we tell him that the man responsible for his dads murder is now alive and being taken care of by our tax money in prison so he can just die in there? Well your entitled to your opinions about the death penalty and I can appreciate your standpoint. I'll personally do it if i had the opportunity. I guess im a barbarian.

It's an emotional issue, especially when you know the victim (or are the victim), I understand that. I just don't see how we can take the moral high road while stooping to the same level as the criminals and murderers. Killing to stop the killers. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Plus, I really think a lot of them don't really care if we execute them, in fact I'd bet many of them would prefer it over life in prison. So which is the worst of two punishments now?

Now THERE'S an idea for punishment! The CBB penalty! Instead of getting the death penalty, they get to live in prison for the rest of their days as the Cell Block Bitch. All the 'Bubba's get unsupervised visits 3 times a day with the convictee.

Heh. I'd like to see a defendant remain impassive when THAT sentence is read out.

I don't support the death penalty because simply put, no system is perfect. Life without possiblity of parole is fine for me (especially when you weigh up the cost of compulsory death sentence appeals over a decade or more).

Having said that, I won't be shedding a tear when he goes.

While I am strongly against the death penalty, this is the first time in history that I felt someone actually deserved such punishment. He terrorized the DC area for weeks just because he felt like killing people and had fun doing it. I hope his sidekick gets the same punishment and the most acceptable form of punishment for both of them are by firing squad.

How about they get to run around in a fenced in area while snipers get to take shots at them?

"Ok, go for his foot first"
"Roger"
"Now his elbow"
etc...

anyone ever see that movie Enemy at the Gates? remember when the Nazis captured that one Russian guy and dressed him up in the Nazi uniform and sent him into the line of fire for the Russian sniper? thats like something we need to do to this guy. Send him to Iraq, dress him up as one of the enemies and toss him into the line of fire.
