Jury Duty selection process: and stupid questions.

term of duty is 1 week or until the end of the case.

however the week started yesterday and they didn't call me in yesterday.

I went in for Jury Duty Selection today.

the process is long and tedious, they called in about 500 people.

so here is the stupid question of the day by one of the potential jurors.

we all met in one building, this was the building where the civil cases were heard, the criminal cases were to be heard in a building across the street.

the lady in charge of jury selection goes thru her schtick, including at the end she says "those of you selected to hear a criminal trial will have to walk across the street. . . "

finally she says, any questions (i always hate this part of things).

and one person raises his hand and says, "ok, so if we go to the building across the street, will we have to go thru the metal detector again?"

[ok, so she had JUST said that and he asks it again, i can live with that. ]

she responds, yes, you do, we require everyone to go thru metal detectors when entering any municipal building. she starts to look around and he says

"you mean, we have to do it AGAIN"?

[is that about the stupidest person you've ever heard about or what]

so i turn to the person next to me and say "yes there are too stupid questions".
