Jury duty and school

I just received a letter for jury duty for next month. The problem is that I'm a full time student and I have a couple of exams and a projects due that week. One of my instructor already mentioned no makeup exams will be given on his syllabus. Will they excuse me if I tell them I can't afford to fail my classes for jury duty?

they can often postpone. I got summoned a month ago and they offered to postpone it unitl april, but i still had class then. luckily i didn't get selected for a jury.

Does the court know you're a full-time student? That will often get you exempted.

Yep. Best thing to do is call the Circuit Clerk (or equivalent) and ask.
