They are not officially in bankrupcy at this point, but it may be only a matter of time.
Word is spreading on Usenet that anyone who has not d/l'd the latest version of Juno's software (which includes the "all your idle cycles are belong to us" part, supposedly) or who has been DUNning the system is finding their access denied and/or accounts deleted. If Juno was your primary e-mail account, you may be SOL unless you are willing to run it their way and only their way, complete with browser changes and day and time limitations on logons.
As for denying new accounts, I have seen conflicting stories on that. Some people claim that previously installed Juno software may be blocking your ability to set up a new account, others claim that Juno is using CallerID data to stop multiple account signups, and still others think that the blocking may be happening at the POP level, where overloaded POPs are not allowing Juno logons to occur.
I don't know the validity of any of this, as I have not had a Juno account. I do know that since they announced the "harness the processing power" project, a lot of people have told them to take a hike.
