I built a new system with an Asus A8V Deluxe board w/ an A64 3500+, and I'm looking to overclock. However, I cannot find JumperFree mode anywhere in the BIOS to adjust the multipler, vcore, etc.! In my manual, all screenshots they have look exactly like my BIOS, except anywhere there is a JumperFree-related option, it's missing in my BIOS!

What's going on here?
My BIOS is version 1003 (initial release) - 2004/06/07. Do I need to update? Also, I checked my manual for any jumpers related to JumperFree mode and I can't find anything.

Thanks,
Andrew

I'm not familiar with your particular BIOS, but I'm pretty sure updating it will give you the options you need. I had the same problem with my motherboard. I knew that I was supposed to have access to adjusting the vcore but I couldn't find it anywhere. Turns out that I had the original BIOS and like 4 updates had come out. I flashed the latest BIOS and sure enough, there were my overclocking options.

Asus renamed there jumperfree mode to AI Overclocking as ever board now is jumper free. It is located under the Advanced and set the AI Overclocking to Manual and that should open up all the settings. And as 49erinnc said you should update the bios, never hurts to have the lates t intalled
