I was wondering if ya'll think it would be worth it to upgrade from a A64 3000+, 6600GT, to a A64 3700+, and a 6800 Ultra. I'm on Socket 754 and don't want to spend too much money. I just want something to hold me over untill the middle of next year when I will do a major upgrade. The only games I play are Quake 3 and now Quake 4 and I'm not really pulling enough FPS in Quake 4 to enjoy it online. Oh and I don't overclock.

:)

I would be spending about $70.00 on the CPU and 190 on the Videocard after I sell my current parts off.

I would just upgrade the video card. Upgrading the cpu isn't really worth it from your 3000+ unless its to an X2.

How much is the total cost for the new CPU and Vid not including the amount you're gain from selling your current stuff?

It might be a better idea to get a new PCI-e motherboard and picking up a $300-ish 7800gt instead of getting a 6800ultra.
