The HF100 does 17 mb/s(megabits) the HF S100 does 24mb/s
i also see that the S100 has a high MP on the video

i was looking at the HF200,but the S100 seemed like the better choice. these are all removable flash memory, as in i prefer to be able to throw it in a card reader vs. hooking the camera up to the PC.
Does scaling video down to lower resolution's even retain the 17 or 24mb/'s, most of my video i scale down to 720x480 to cater to people who might not have HDtv's yet
