July 4 weekend plans

Got plans for July 4th weekend?

I am probably going to take a days vacation on friday and have a 4 day weekend.

Would like to go out to the river saturday and do some fishing, maybe set out some jug lines to see if I can get some catfish.

Not planning on having a cookout, its just too hot outside to deal with smoking a brisket in 100 degree heat. If we cook anything its probably going to be some hotdogs on the stove.

Might go up to the deer camp and check on some stuff.

Ordered some parts for my rifle. UPS tracking says the parts are supposed to be here thursday. If the parts come in, I will get them installed on my rifle over the weekend.

I like it when the 4th is on a weekend or on a Friday or Thursday even.
Monday not so good as hangovers on the next day are a drag!

I really hate when the 4th is in the middle of the week for that reason. Why can't they make it the first Thursday in July in call it independence day? (Like Thanksgiving) ha!
 
Saturday & Sunday - visiting family. Various cook outs, pool parties, and drinking with girlfriend, friends, and family.

Then Monday will be more of the same, only fireworks in the evening.
 
i think the non-original (and lesser) 37 states should pay an annual tax to the original 13 for the 4th of july. i also think the same tax should be paid to massachusetts exclusively for thanksgiving and halloween.
 
Short day on Friday
Saturday goin to a party where a friend who has 5 acres bought around 10K worth of fireworks
Sunday having small get together at my house before goin to see the fireworks in the park in the village (I live very very close to the park where the village shoots them off)

I plan to consume many many glasses of mead!
 
Private lake (Lake Kahola) on Saturday, all day
Staying at home on Sunday and going boating, cooking out, swimming, tubing, etc
Monday boating, swimming in our pool, drinking, using the hot tub at night and relaxing...
 
smoke a couple packers, probably cheat and finish them in the oven.

figuring just salt and pepper in the rub. make some sauce out of the drippings. nothing better for bbq sauce than the meat's own juice.
