Yeah, it's important that our courts keep occupied with such important matters while our citizens wait in jail cells for thier trials.

Actually this is a good thing for Marvel - import rates are cheaper for toys (non-human) than dolls (human). I saw this on TechTV last night.

They wouldnt be there if they didnt commit a crime. If you ever had a criminal trial you would know that they are sometimes quite speedy.

To Brian Wilkinson, editor of the online site X-Fan (x-mencomics.com/xfan/), Marvel's argument is appalling. The X-Men -- mere creatures? "This is almost unthinkable," he says. "Marvel's super heroes are supposed to be as human as you or I. They live in New York. They have families and go to work. And now they're no longer human?"

/me backs away slowly, then run!

Toy Biz, in its filings, pulled no punches. The figures "stand as potent witnesses for their status as nonhuman creatures," the company argued. How could they be humans, Toy Biz said, if they possessed "tentacles, claws, wings or robotic limbs?"

Good to know amputees with prosthetics are no longer human.

The intent was just corporate profit-maximizing, but it is still a slap in the face of the writers and artists who created these characters, as well as fans of the comics.

So, uh, how many people are waiting in jail to be tried by the U.S. Court of International Trade? ;)

I think the correct way to test this is to see if they reproduce with humans sucessfully. I'll sacrafice my body in the name of science and test my methods with Jubilee and Storm.

Lethal

he'll settle for testing his methods on the actors who play them in the upcoming movie. A small sacrifice to make for science.
