Because free speech can cause a lot more damage than someone carrying a firearm, yet I don't see people freaking out about it. As a matter of fact, it seems quite the opposite, that when speech becomes more extreme and dangerous we fight to make sure that that speech is not infringed, why don't those same people hold all rights in the same regard?

I don't know. That sounds like the Brady supporters wish list to a tee and there are many politicians who believe in it.

I thought #5 was already being done or moved on in CA.

It passed last year but was struck down as being "unconstitutionally vague".

I mention statistics about murder rates and their eyes glaze over andt hey grow quiet. These people do exist, and their stances are not based on anything logical, it's all programming and fear from stuff they've seen on TV, I can only surmise.
