The company I work for has adopted Java and .NET as the two languages that will be standard for developing new applications. In my current position, I mainly develop/support java apps, jsp pages, and oracle objects. Times are a changing and a project has come my way in which I can choose one of the two company standards. To "broaden my experience" I am considering going with the .NET, specifically ASP.

Can anyone here explain some of the common mistakes made by java developers when entering the .NET world? Any books/websites that you guys would recommend for someone in my situation?

I have light VB6 experience and have used ASP as an intern (5 yrs ago) but it wasn't .NET. right now I use beans and oracle objects for reusable code. I am going to assume .NET has something similar to beans?

Thanks

I would jump on http://www.asp.net. It's sort of developer central on the web for all flavors of APS.Net programming.

There aren't really any specific hurdles. Just a new set of conventions to learn. You'll pick it up quickly.
