If you can get a job as a jr. database programmer on a real database like sql or oracle you'll be in great shape for getting a nice high-paying job in short order.

The titles that they invent for entry level programmers don't necessarily reflect the actual job function. I've had a number of friends get Visual Basic jobs that invovled no database interaction at all and yet they got titles like "Database Administrator" and "Database Engineer". Most folks these days take titles with a grain of salt (*prove* to me what you can do, don't just hide behind a title and a bunch of letters after your name!)
