JPEG Not viewable?

Recently I had copied Priceless photographs from my camera to my computer. I viewed them a view times, and then copied them to a cd. Using windows xp to burn the files, it stopped when it said 5 secs left. It was displaying the message "Performing final steps" but it never got past that. left it overnight, stll performing those final steps with 5 secs left. I checked file size on the cd and it was the same as the folder of pics on my computer. Stopped the copying process, then tried to view the pictures. It said JPEG format, but I couldn't view them. They seemed corrupt or something. then I tried to view them on ym computer. Now THEY were unreadable! The files are there but in an unreadable jpeg. Any ideas?

If these truly are priceless pics I assume you still have them on the flash memory or in another location? Try using Nero or CDBurnerXP instead of XP's built-in Roxio cd burning app.

no, they are deleted from the memory stick....

OK, are they still on your hard drive? If not let this be a valuable lesson to back up "priceless" data to multiple locations. 🙁
