rayman origins will be coming to store shelves and digital download march 29th. now if you buy the DIGITAL copy you have basically an activation key, while folks who go visit the store. need not worry about DRM at all.

Then make sure they get a million cancelled pre-orders . . . preferably with some charge backs if they took money for the pre-orders.

Um, more like they will change their minds, and then not tell anyone. So you only find out after you install (or after a bunch of people find out and post on the internet).

Explain to me again why people pre-order in this day and age? You can't wait that additional 2 hours it'll take you to get it?

In this day and age there is no good reason to pre-order. Thats why they now include special bonuses like keychains, or maybe exclusive in-game content.

It's society and their "Instant Gratification" complex. Everyone wants things and they want them NOW.

But to be fair, it isn't 2 additional hours. Normally you have to wait until all of the fanboys and media hype die down before you get anything like a reasonable review of a game. Depending on the game, that could take weeks or more.

And who wants to wait 3 weeks after Christmas before they play with the new toys?

It's Ubisoft, so the promise of no DRM is too good to be true. This company should not be rewarded.

Don't believe anything Ubisoft says. It's a PC game and ubisoft hates PC gamers and say they're all pirates. The "promise" of a DRM free game is most likely pure unadulterated bullshit marketing.

tldr: fuck ubisoft.

They said From Dust would only need to be online for activation and that turned out to be a crock of shit. Not that I have any interest in this game, but Ubisoft deserves to be slammed at every opportunity for their bait-and-switch tactics.

If you believe Ubisoft that the game will be released DRM free, then I have a bridge in Brooklyn I would like to sell you.

game is worth the DRM imho. I played the Wii version and it's one of the most incredible games I've ever played. While I don't care for DRM, DRM or not this game will be bought on release day by me.

When I see it at GoG, I'll consider believing that they might be offering a DRM-free new game.

I very much suspect deception, such as having copy protection free media, and calling it DRM-free, while still implementing broken DRM that has gotten us wary of them in the executable(s). Take note: the key word is broken, not DRM. The implication is not, "let's all be freetards," but, "Ubisoft is not willing to take responsibility for their failings, and it sucks because they do put out a few good games, amongst the crap."

game is worth the DRM imho.
From some publishers, I would believe that. Zenimax and Activison come to mind. EA and Ubisoft just have too common a habit of making it difficult for paying customers.

If it stays this way (I'll believe it when I see it) then it will be incentive to buy it.

I vote with my wallet on the negative side all the time, there are rare opportunities to vote with it on the positive side. If they can manage to actually stay true to their word this time, then may as well encourage such activity.

I'll wait for it to come out first and have this info verified, though... that's for sure.

We'll never understand what you're trying to get at unless you tell us how you really feel.
Stop holding back, man!
